Polly Brown is known for her conceptual approach to photography and film making. As well as her editorial and commercial commissions, when free to, she likes to work in series : ideas that can be illustrated through different mise en scene and creating abstract narratives.
Her interest is in the absurd and unlikely juxtapositions of objects and humans and in WET she uses water as a theme to explore a variety of snapshots. Through portraits, still life and textures, we encounter these fetishistic displays where a collision of sex and intimacy diverge in this tactile and chaotic joining of imagery. This results in an essay that shows her growing sophistication as an artist who succeeds in abstract story telling.
